About SVBC

Our Purpose

Shenandoah Valley Bible College exists to train followers of Christ with the knowledge and skills needed to share the gospel, teach the Scriptures, and serve faithfully in every area of life. Whether in the church, on the mission field, at home, in the classroom, or in the workplace, students will be prepared to clearly explain and defend the historic truths of the Christian faith.

Our Vision

Our vision is to prepare Christ-centered leaders who bring the truth of God’s Word into every sphere of influence—making disciples, strengthening churches, and engaging the world for the glory of God.

Statement of Faith

All students, faculty, and staff at Shenandoah Valley Bible College are required to affirm the following Statement of Faith as a condition of participation in our Christ-centered learning community:

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (excluding the Apocrypha) are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration and wholly trustworthy as the infallible and inerrant rule of faith and life.

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and gave His life as a substitutionary atonement for sin through His shed blood and death. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return personally in power and glory.

Salvation is a work of God’s grace. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of sinners. God justifies the ungodly by imputing Christ’s righteousness to them. This righteousness is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

The Holy Spirit indwells every true believer, empowering them to live a life pleasing to God.

Christ has established His church, which is called to proclaim the gospel, teach sound doctrine, and live under the authority of Holy Scripture.

We believe God created humanity in His image as male and female—distinct, complementary, and unchangeable. Marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman, designed by God for companionship, procreation, and to reflect Christ’s relationship with the church. Human sexuality is to be expressed only within this biblical framework.

We affirm the spiritual unity of all true believers in Jesus Christ.

At the final judgment, all people will be raised from the dead—those in Christ to eternal life, and those outside of Christ to eternal judgment.
